things are happening

i am thinking of going to grad school for death studies – a mixture of sociology, anthropology, religious studies, psychology and science courses. it’s just a thought, in its infant stages, but i did email my old advisor for advice. so we’ll see.

jackie and sage got me a cute lampshade for my birthday, but man was it was a bitch to assemble.

”eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” is one of the most beautiful and rewarding films i’ve seen since “lost in translation.”

i joined a book club recently started by eric, carter, katie and jack. we are reading james joyce’s “ulysses,” which i’ve been wanting to read ever since borders named the top 100 books of all time and it was number one. i’ve been putting it off too long. i’m already 50 pages into it, and don’t understand much, but that’s ok. that’s what the book group is for! first meeting in two weeks.

i just found out that adam brody and rachel bilson (better known as seth and summer from “the oc”) are dating. random entertainment gossip from msn.com.

i am attempting to stay at home more during the week. as in, all four weeknights. so far it is not working out too well, since i went out with jason last night. ah well. in an attempt to keep myself from getting bored i’m going to set aside time to do several things i haven’t gotten around to yet. like settle down and watch seasons four & five of “sex and the city,” for example. fortunately, carter owns seasons one through five on dvd. hooray for nerdy television-loving friends!

jason has introduced me to the wonderful world of odwalla and now i’m obsessed with superfood, which my roommate thinks is the most disgusting-looking drink ever. but it’s so damn good!

a bunch of people have called me recently who i really need to call back, but i am lazy. last night i called my parents while walking to the grocery store, promised to call them back when i was done shopping, went into the store, purchased cat food and litter, walked home and – naturally – totally forgot about calling my parents. i’m a bad daughter.
